Project 67

“If you always give you will always have.”

Our niece and her family gave us a plaque with this saying as they left to serve as missionaries in Jamaica. Over the years we have realized how so true this is.

After relocating to St. Petersburg in 2003, we both felt it important to involve our grandchildren in projects to teach them the importance of “giving back.” Our first Christmas mission was simple. We started by filling 50 brown paper sacks with candy and fruit and passed out these care packages to the homeless families and children in our area.

Our oldest grandson, Garrett, who is now 20, was so bothered when we ran out of sacks (because he saw more people in need) before we ran out of people. He encouraged us to do more in the future.

Each year we have expanded our outreach by providing necessary items at the right times. We have handed out food such as pizza, hot dogs, drinks, and deserts as well as backpacks filled with school supplies for children of all ages.

During the spring time we have filled Easter baskets for single mothers who can’t afford to bless their children in the Easter season. During the Christmas season, we were able to provide toys and food for foster children in our local communities.

More To Be Done

Much has been done, many have been helped, and there are so many others who need us. We recently founded a not-for-profit corporation, Project 67, with a strong desire to continue our outreach. Many have asked us how they can support us and we are so appreciative of this question. In order to continue blessing people we need donations. No matter how big or small, your financial support can give us the ability to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and give those less fortunate the ability to get back on their feet.

A donation as little as $10 will provide a hot meal for at least 5 people or provide a child with supplies they need for school. Please consider giving to our cause and have confidence that your donations will directly benefit children and adults who need our help.

Please also assist us by spreading the word to your friends and family. Through our sincere passion to help others and with your support, we can continue making a difference. Please join us in giving back to your community.

While our endeavors and projects have increased through the years we are hopeful that through the support of our friends and family we can truly expand and do so much more. Be blessed!
